Erica Watson is an essayist and freelance editor living on the boundary of Denali National Park, Alaska. She earned her MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2014, where she received the Jason Wenger Memorial Writing Award, and her BA in creative writing, Spanish, and women’s studies from the University of Arizona in 2007.
Her writing has appeared in various journals and websites, and focuses on landscape and language, the intersection of the natural and human-made worlds, relationships, and technology, and is hopefully a bit funnier than that description makes it sound.
She has edited creative manuscripts, technical documents, and educational materials, and is available for editing and consulting services.
Erica was named a 2016 Fishtrap Fellow, and is currently at work on her first book manuscript.
She also knits, skis, hikes, and makes crafts from found objects to sell to friends and tourists.
